Teaching botany; models.-Relates to botanical models of the kind comprising several members adjustable on a background to illustrate the changes that occur in the life of the subject, the members including a cover representing the exterior of the subject and internal parts limited by stops. According to the invention, a representation a of the exterior of the subject, for example a sage flower, is pivoted at b on a background x and can be swung parallel to the background to disclose an interior view comprising movable parts limited by stops, some of the parts coacting in their movements. For example, to illustrate the process of fertilization, the movable parts comprise (1) a continuation e of the pistil h carried by a lever f and passing through a slot q, to show the growth of the pistil, and (2) stamens and anthers represented by coacting arms j, l pivoted at m and normally held against stops n, p by a spring or the like, to illustrate the deposition of pollen upon a bee.
