Ground levers; spring and weight control.-In point-operating mechanism for railway points, the hand - lever is normally retained in a vertical position by a counterweight secured to its lower end which is provided with a camslot for engaging a projection on the point rod whereby the points are operated; a spring or weight retaining-device is combined with the operating - mechanism. In the construction shown a bowl n on the point rod i loosely engages in the slot g in the counterweight e so that trailing through can take place without affecting the hand-lever h. To retain the points in either set position, the rod i carries a tumbler lever q which is engaged by a spring- pressed or weighted roller t.
