26,247. Rasmussen, W. P. H. Nov. 23. Hand-levers and hand gearing, interlocking. -Four signal rods 2, 3, 4, 5, Fig. 4, one of .which, 3, is also shown in Fig. 1, are adapted to oscillate four bolts 12, 13, 14, 15 through the medium of suitable levers or other gearing. The bolts 13, 14 are in one horizontal plane, and the rods 12, 15 in another. In the initial position, the ends of all the bolts are clear of two sliding plates 30, 31 provided with apertures registering with the ends of the four bolts. The bolts 13,14 engage interconnected levers 23, 24 adapted to move the slide 30 when either bolt is moved towards it, but not to return the slide on the reverse motion taking place. The slides 30, 31 are provided with gravity or spring catches adapted, when the slide is moved, to prevent the movement of the corresponding bolt. The apparatus works as follows. Assuming the signal rod 3 to be operated, the bolt 13 is moved and enters the corresponding aperture in the slide 30. After a certain amount of lost motion is taken up, the slide 30 is moved bv the engagement of the lever 23 by the bolt 13. This brings the catch in front of the bolt 14, thereby locking the rod 4. The other catch over-rides the bolt 13, but falls into position when the bolt 13 is withdrawn by a reverse movement of the rod 3, whereupon both bolts 13, 14 are locked until the slide 30 is re-set by a key 41. The remaining pair of bolts and the other slide operate in a similar manner.
