13,372. Christian, J. June 10. Cutting-out. - Extensible garment patterns are constructed partly on the sliding principle and partly by hinged sections, graduations showing the amount of extension. Fig. 2 illustrates a coat front and side section, in which parts B, C extend outwards and independently by means of slots and rivets, and the part B' extends downwards around a pivot K'. The parts B, C, B1 have as a common foundation an underlying sheet, the contour of which is shown in dotted and full lines between the points K. To enable adjustments to be made for corpulent persons the side section B2 is pivoted at F1 to an underlying sheet riveted to the part B1, the rear edge being adjustable about a pivot L in itself. A front part D is pivoted to the upper foundation at K2 and is riveted in a slot K3 in the part B2, itself being slotted to allow for motion of the part B2. Patterns for back and sleeves are similarly constructed.
