Operating doors by link mechanism.-Sidelights, ventilators, &c. of greenhouses &c. are operated by means of a pair of parallel rods &c. 6, 7 in tension, moving in opposite directions and each connected by a link 8, 9 respectively to each light 1. The rods &c. 6, 7 are mounted on inclined rollers 16, Fig. 4, in fixed brackets 15 and are connected together at one end by a chain &c. passing between guide-pulleys and around a pulley, the other ends of the rods being connected by a chain &c. passing around a sprocket-wheel &c. which is rotated by a crank and is locked in any position by a hand-wheel. The links 8, 9 are connected to the centre of each light and are pivoted to inwardly projecting lugs on sleeves 10, 11 adjustably mounted on the rods 6, 7. The tubes 6, 7 are provided with adjustable couplings, and instead of being connected at their ends by chains &c. they may be connected by links or levers.
