[Class 20 (iii)] Opening and closing apparatus for hinged windows, ventilators and the like in the sides or roofs of buildings of the kind comprising two links connecting the sash 1 to longitudinally movable rods 5, 6, is characterized in that the rods 10, 11 are pivotally mounted on bosses 7, 8, between collars or stops on the rods and are connected by a yoke 12 pivoted in a shackle 13 pivoted to the sash. By these connections the relative movement between the links and rods for openings of the sash up to 90‹ is permitted. Additional links 15, 16, centrally pivoted to the links 10, 11 are connected by a pivoted shackle and pivoted yoke 17, 18 to a bracket or the like 20 fixed on the frame and the rods 5, 6 are carried by rollers in a stirrup 21 attached to the bracket.
