A Contrivance for Crossing Cheques to Prevent Fraud.

Hand - stamps. - A fraud-preventing device for use with cheques comprises an impress stamp which will at one and the same operation cross the cheque and perforate it, so that, if the crossing lines are removed, the fact that the cheque has been crossed still remains obvious. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the rubber or like pliable material J carries projecting lines b and any desired wording while metal perforators c, of various shapes are provided on or near these lines. The device may be formed as a roller as shown in Fig. 3, in which case an adjustable inking-pad d may be provided, or may be flat, as shown in Fig. 2.
