摘要
119,934. Tofield, H. C. Nov. 10, 1917. Brackets, lamp.-A bracket or support for electric or other lamps comprises trough-shaped bars a jointed together by means of bolts b, nuts e, spring washers d, and tubular distance-pieces c and provided with guiding or retaining eyes a4 or rings for the electric cable or its equivalent. The bottom part of the bars is cut away at each end so as to leave fork-like parallel arms a5, and a web a2 is left on the edge of one or both arms a5 in the same plane as the bottom of the trough. The eye or ring a4 is preferably stamped or pressed from the bottom or side of the bars a. The bars a are jointed together so that one of the arms a5 of each bar is on the outside and the other arm is on the inside of corresponding arms of adjacent bars. The bars may be formed by cutting away parts of channelled strips or by bending sheet-metal blanks somewhat like the letter H. The shade or reflector g is fixed to a ring h connected by a bolt k to or formed in one with a lug l jointed. to one of the free ends of the bars whilst the other free end is jointed to a knuckle p formed in one with a disk p2 having a depending screw pin p1 which passes through a hole in the bed or table of a machine or other support, or a supplementary support, and is secured by nuts r and a spring washer. The electric-lamp holder is inserted through the ring h, and the cable is preferably wound one or more times round the distance-pieces. In some cases, the bars a are connected together by a pair of jointed links m, n. Fig. 8, with recessed and projecting parts at their junction as shown, the axis of the joint between the links being at rightangles to the axis of the joint between the links and bars, and the joints are arranged so that when the bracket is extended the arms and the links are in line.
