164,315. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. June 3, 1920, [Convention date]. Hopper wagons.-In a self-discharging receptacle, the operating mechanism contains two crank gearings positively connected to each other, one crank-arm of which has passed its dead position toward the end of the operating movement, the other being in front of its dead position. The doors A, B are hinged at c', c', and are operated through a handle M loose on the shaft G2, lugs m1, m2, on the cross-piece attached to the handle engaging a. pin g4 on a crank-arm G3 when opening or closing the doors. The arm G of the bell-crank lever is connected to the door through link F, cranks E2, E, and link D. Similarly the other arm G1 of the bell-crank lever is connected to the door B through link H, cranks J2, J, and link K. When closing the doors by means of the handle M, the lug m1 engages the pin g4 on the crank-arm G3 and revolves it in the direction of the arrow x thereby actuating the bell-crank lever and its connecting-links and cranks. Toward the end of the movement the toggle joint formed by the link K and crank J passes its position of dead centre before the toggle joint formed by link D and crank E. In the closed position of the doors further movement of the toggles is prevented by stops c3 bearing against cranks E2, J2, and the bell-crank lever and its connecting-links have passed their position of dead centre. The handle M is retained in th,e closed position by a stoppin N. When opening the doors, free movement of the handle M occurs until the lug m2 engages the stop g4, the bell-crank lever is then revolved until the toggles are broken, the weight of the load opening the doors, further action of the doors being independent of the handle M.
