Improvements in route and station indicators for use in railway and other vehicles

Moving-map and like indicators for vehicles.- A route and station indicator comprises a block 5 with pointer 4 which is traversed by a screw 6 at a speed proportional to that of the vehicle along a guide 1 indicating the route. The mechanism employed consists of a star wheel operated by a stud on a vehicle wheel and connected by a flexible shaft 11 with a bevel pinion 12 which can be caused to engage with either of the bevel pinions 14, 15 mounted on the shaft 13 which operates the screw 6 through a train of reducing-gearing. The shaft 6 is provided with spring buffers 21, 22 to carry the block 5 out of gear with the shaft in the event of the vehicle moving beyond the point indicated at the end of the journey. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 15859/84 and 12252/92.
