Plug-cocks; locking.-A valve locking-device described in connection with means for preventing the unauthorized use of motor-vehicles comprises, as shown, a bolt g controlling the opening of the fuel valve, and itself under the control of a combination lock d. The bolt is carried within a casing c mounted on a casing a secured to the motor casing by studs entered from within the latter. The fuel is led to a valve l by an inlet tube m and then passes to the engine through an outlet tube n. An extension of the valve stem carries a pinion p meshing with a rack x on the bolt g, and the valve is opened by advancing the bolt to the position shown. The bolt slides within a sleeve f carrying rings d having apertures shaped as shown in Fig. 5. The rings normally engage in indentations h in the bolt and permit the bowl to be moved only when the rings are turned so that eccentric parts k of the aperture are in alignment with ribs i separating the indentations.
