A new or improved means for sharpening scissors and like tools

Tools. - A device for sharpening scissors &c. comprises two discs a, b secured together by a central screw or rivet e and having a flat sheet f of abrading-material, for example, emery or carborundum cloth, between the discs. A portion of the disc b is turned up at c to form a guide for the scissors 'blade; the angle at one edge of the guide may be more acute than at the other to allow for the spiral formation of the blade. The disc b may also have a turned-up part g which serves to rotate the disc to expose fresh portions of the abrasive surface, and also as a guide for sharpening knives. Two or more layers of abrading-material may be provided, the top layer being replaced, when worn out, by a lower layer. According to the Provisional Specification, a thin plate of carborundum &c. may be used as the abrading-surface.
