Globes, shades; globe and shade holders; mounting globes and shades on electric lamp bulbs.-A lamp globe or shade preferably formed of translucent glass or ceramic material, consists of two cones or flared formations converging towards one another and joined with a gradual curve, the cones or flared formations having no internal concave formations. In one form, as shown in Fig. 1, a globe or shade a is arranged with its part c of smallest diameter encircling the upper part of an incandescent mantle b. The globe may be held in position by a holder secured around a burner tube e and provided with a number of radial arms f having screws f1 or spring devices at their ends for engaging the upper rim of the globe. In a second form, as shown in Fig. 3, a globe a1 is mounted on the bulb of an electric incandescent lamp and the upper portion a2 of the globe is smaller than the lower portion and terminates on the level of the lamp cap h.
