India-rubber, ornamenting and variegating.- India rubber goods are formed by consolidating into the desired shape a body consisting of or containing powdered-metal-coated sections of rubber of any colour and shape. The coated sections may be obtained (1) by dipping rubber sections into a mixture of rubber solution and a metallic powder, (2) by extruding around rubber a mixture of rubber and powdered metal and cutting up the rods produced, or (3) by interposing rubber sheet between thin sheets of a mixture of rubber and powdered metal and cutting up the resulting compound sheets, if desired after rolling them up.
