Records; combined working of sound-reproducing and special noise-producing apparatus.- Contact devices actuated by a moving film to control other apparatus, for example, apparatus producing noises simulating quick-firing guns in conjunction with a kinematograph or sound film are constructed so that the controlled apparatus is arrested in case of breakage of the film. The device may also be used in conjunction with a picture film to control a shutter for making an identification mark on a sound film during recording in synchronism with the picture film. The film 1 has a. notch 2 to influence rolls 30, 22 on spring-pressed rods 29, 21 actuating switch contacts 28, 20 in series in a circuit 14 to a relay 12' in a rectifying circuit supplied with alternating current from mains 8. 'This circuit charges condensers 5 and discharges them through a loudspeaker 3 to simulate quick-firing guns, the charging and discharging of the condensers being controlled by a switch arm 6 oscillated by a cam 11 on a motor 10 driven from the mains 8. The film is held stiff by passing between rollers 35, 36 and against a flange on the roller 35. In case of breakage of the film the roll 30 can move so that the non-conducting end 33 of the contact 28 comes between the springs 27 and breaks the circuit 14 before the broken film can allow the roll 22 to close the contact 20.
