Pottery, throwing and turning. - A potter's jolly arm is made in two parts a, b connected by a vertical pivot c so that the tool e, after being brought down into the mould by the lowering of the weighted arm W, can be moved horizontally to produce undercut or bellied " ware and moved back again to clear the moulded article after the completion of the operation. Stops g, which limit the horizontal movement, can be set to fix the parts a, b rigidly together when producing straight or non-bellied ware.
