[Class 141] A corset comprises an upper part A connected to a lower part B at the front only, the lower part overlapping the upper part at the back in sliding relation. The parts are maintained in alignment by stiffeners c1 and m sliding in sheaths, and the relative movement between the parts is yieldingly controlled by elastic connections c also enclosed in sheaths, as shown in Fig. 3, which is an inside view of the garment. Elastic fabric is provided over the hips at b11 in the lower part, and under the arms at f in the upper part. The rear suspenders are carried by straps which cross at the back and pass in loop form from the upper edge to the lower edge at k of the lower back part of the garment. The front suspenders are carried by a member l, formed partly of resilient material lx and which is connected to the garment under the armpits and is supported at the front by elastic means lxx. Stiffeners s may be provided on either side of the elastic member lxx, and the garment may be adapted to open at the front, as shown, or at the side.
