[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] A blank 7 is spun against a former 6 by a resilient tool 10, the former being patterned to ornament the surface adjacent thereto, while the surface with which the too] contacts remains smooth. The tool may be slotted at 13 for resilience, or may be of a resilient material such as ebonite, or may be of non-elastic material and be mounted in a holder 11 with resilient material such as rubber 14 interposed, or may be held in the hand. The clamp 8 may be of wood. The process is applicable to silver, pewter, German silver, brass or other metal or alloy.
