[Class 83 (i)] In a centrifugal casting process the casting material is fed through a distributer arranged within the mould, the distributer having a slot formed by movable flat or curved faces which accelerate the flow of the casting material as it leaves the distributer. In one embodiment the slot in the distributer is formed by a sloping wall 1, covered with refractory material 10, and a roller 2, adjustably mounted so that the width of the slot may be varied. A bath of molten lead 11 may be arranged outside the wall for cooling purposes and the roller may also be hollow for the same purpose. In lieu of an adjustable axis the roller may be made eccentric so that the opening in the distributer varies between a maximum and zero or notches may be made around the circumference to give an intermittent flow. In another embodiment, Fig. 5, two pairs of rollers are provided, the lower pair 211, 2 drive the upper ones 13, 14 by friction and are adjustable, they may also have eccentric axes or be notched. Driving means for the rollers may be such that their speed may be varied. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, describes also a feeding roller having a series of staggered recesses which permits a band of casting material to be fed having different thicknesses along its width. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
