[Class 78 (i)] [See also Group XXXIV] The ball bearings 1a by which the roller or sheave 9 for an endless-band conveyer is rotatably mounted on the spindle 1 are housed in annular members 3 secured to the roller and provided with cup-shaped discs 5, 6 between which felt or other pliable washers 7 are confined, the internal diameter of the washers being such that they are in rubbing contact with the spindle. The bearings and the discs are retained in position by spring rings 4, 8 engaging annular grooves in the members 3. The washers exclude dust and retain the lubricant. The inner races of the ball bearings abut against shoulders on the spindle.
