[Class 142 (i)] A cross-border dobby comprises border and body lattice barrels A, B mounted in stationary bearings and driven by catches a2, b2 respectively which are alternately moved into operative position by means controlled from a measuring barrel E. The catches a2, b2 are adjustably mounted in the head of a stud O carried by the knife lever and provided with a toothed sector O for engagement with a toothed sector M loosely mounted on the lever shaft N, the sector M being rocked by a link connection L from a lever K positioned over the barrel E. Co-operating curved surfaces m, o3 on the sectors M, O respectively hold the lower sector against rotation while the catch b2 is operative. Each catch wheel transmits motion to its barrel through a give-way clutch and each barrel is provided with a positioning device comprising spring-pressed balls e2 adapted to engage pockets in the bore of the barrel.
