摘要
442,226. Teaching music. WHITE, T. W., 55, Aylestone Lane, Wigston Magna, Leicester. Aug. 2, 1934, No. 22581. [Class 88 (ii)] Relates to apparatus, for teaching staff notation or exercising sight reading, comprising a translucent sheet 1a, marked with staff lines and applied over a board with holes 1c situated behind the lines or spaces, and an electric lamp at each hole connected to one of a series of buttons or knobs 15 carried by a control board or box 14, and consists in arranging the operating buttons on a staff a3 marked on the box 14. The lamps are mounted in recesses in a block hinged to the back of the apertured board. When not in use, the control box 14 fits within a compartment of the modulator 1. Coloured lamps may be used, or coloured glass interposed. Interchangeable key-signature cards 24 may be hung from pins 24b; or the key-signatures may be marked on a band movable over rollers, being visible through an aperture, and they may be illuminated. In a modification, accidentals are illuminated, as required, in front of the selected notes, three further operating buttons being provided on the control box, to be pressed respectively, in addition to the button corresponding to the note, when a #, #b, or # is to be shown. Other signs, e.g. crotchets, may be similarly shown.
