467,730. Stern-frames. KILGOUR, J. Feb. 15, 1937, No. 4419. [Class 113 (ii)] In a stern - frame construction for ships the rudder post is formed integral with the ship's framing by extending downwards a closely spaced pair D of the aft frames. The propeller post L is constructed as a separate casting and is connected at its base by the sole piece F to the foot of the rudder post. The rudder pintles and gudgeons J are separate castings or forgings and are riveted or welded to the rudder post. The rudder post is plated over and in the forward direction the plating streamlined. The arch N of the aperture is also plated and is connected to the rudder post by the gusset P.
