[Class 144 (i)] A detachable wheel comprising a hubbarrel 15 with a flange 14 apertured to engage driving - studs 5 on the permanent hub flange 4, is secured by a nut 18 having interrupted screw threads for engaging, after assembly in bayonet-joint fashion corresponding threadportions 9 on the permanent hub. A closure-cap 25 is secured by a nut 24 engaging a threaded stem 23 on the nut 18, the latter being locked by lugs 28 on the cap engaging flats 29 on the nut. In a modification, the nut is locked by a key-piece engaging the gaps 10 between the threads.
