Brakes.-A band-brake drum G is detachably secured on the hub of a bicycle or other vehicle wheel by dog irons D, placed behind the spoke flange, the screwed ends of the irons passing through the spokes and entering holes or slots in the drum. The drum may be made in halves, and the dog irons indented to fill the space between the spokes at the back of the spoke flange. A distance-piece is used with the clip for the band of the brake to hold the clip fixed on application of the brake.
