摘要
Fabrics are rendered crease resisting by first sizing the fabric so that the fibres are individually coated with a film of latex, rubber, rubber derivative, siccative or vulcanized oils and then with synthetic and/or natural resins. The first treatment is preferably with an aqueous rubber dispersion, which may contain vulcanizing substances and dispersing media; solutions of rubber in solvents such as benzol and toluol may be used. Vulcanizing may be effected before or after the resin treatment. In an example, a fabric is impregnated with a 40 per cent solution of latex containing some alkylated naphthalene sulphonic acid as a dispersing agent, dried, treated in a solution containing urea, formaldehyde and lactic acid as catalyst, dried and heated to 150 DEG C.
