Improvements in and relating to coin freed machines for the supply of table tennis balls and other articles suitable for coin freed delivery, by the insertion of one or more coins
519,707. Coin - freed machines. ROSSITER, F. E. Sept. 30, 1938, No. 28402. [Class 27] In coin-freed machines the coins fall down a shoot 5 and pass partly through a slot in a sliding member 2, coming to rest on the inclined surface 6. The stop 7 is moved axially on the threaded bar 8 until the correct combination of coins 24 forms a rigid bar between the stop 7 and the pawl 10 either directly or through the intermediary of a pivoted stop 9. Thus when the drawer or sliding member is moved in Fig. 1 at right angles to the plane of the paper the coins release the pawl and allow the movement to proceed. During the movement the pivoted stop 9 is engaged by the fixed ramp 21 to release the coins and the latter drop into a coin receptacle as soon as they move laterally off the shelf 6. On the return movement of the drawer a spring 17 re-engages the pawl 10. Meanwhile the movement of the drawer is used to deliver articles on the intermittently - operated - gate - and - gravity - escape - principal. The forward movement of the drawer removes the lowest article 13 from the pile and drops it through an opening 15 for delivery; a second member 16 meanwhile moving forward to support the rest of the pile. On the return movement' another article is lowered into the slide for delivery next time.
