577,709. Doors. PRESSED STEEL CO., Ltd., MATON, W.C., and FORD, F. E. March 7, 1944, No. 4177. [Class 20 (iii)] A sheet-metal door comprises a box-section frame and one or more panels integral with it or permanently attached to it to complete the box-section. In Fig 2 the panel 60, and the edge with the box-section frame 60, and the edge 63 of the frame is offset so that it may be engaged by spring clips 64 for securing a second panel 65. In modifications, the edge of the latter panel is held by engaging it under the edge 63 of the frame, or is received in a rebate formed in the frame and held by spring clips passing through holes in one face of the rebate. In other forms, the panel 65 is omitted. Fig. 8 shows one form of door in which the panel 101 is formed separately from the frame member 97 and welded to it to complete the box-section. In a modification the margin of the panel within the channelsection member 97 is also of channel section. Fig. 13 shows a door in which the frame is formed by a shallow channel member 34, a similarly formed marginal portion of a dished panel 35, and a channel member 36, all welded together. The member 34 may form the margin of a dished panel member similar to the member 35, but facing in the opposite direction. A wood edge strip 44, with or without a rubber or like weather strip 120 may be added as shown in Fig. 18. In another form the outer margins of the frame are brought together and welded, the edge being covered by a hollow metal finishing strip secured by clips. A metal frame containing a glass panel may be secured in the main frame of the door.
