582,159. Doors. PRESSED STEEL CO., Ltd., MATON, W. C., and FORD, F. E. March 7, 1944, No. 1780/46. Divided out of 577,709. [Class 20 (iii)] A sheet-metal door consists of a rectangular frame formed of channel-section members 11 having their open sides facing inwardly and closed by shallow channel-section reinforcements 12 to form box-section members together with a panel or panels 14 detachably secured in the frame. The panels may consist of a metal, wood, fibre board, millboard, asbestos cement, or plastic sheet 14 covered with leather or fabric 17 and as shown are secured by spring clips 15 passing through holes in the inwardly-offset flanges 13 of the frame. In modifications the clips engage the edges of the flanges. The frame may include an intermediate horizontal channel member with its open side facing upwardly, the panels having offset strips attached to them which engage over the flanges of this member to hold them to it. A glass panel may be held in a metal frame bolted or clipped to the main frame.
