594,227. Jigging-conveyers. BLACK, W. June 29, 1945, No. 12729/47. Divided out of 594,210. [Class 78(i)] In a conveyer made up of a series of overlapping rigid metal troughs, each trough is supported resiliently and is connected to a pair of parallel ropes, and a jigging motion is imparted to the troughs against the action of a returning, spring. One end of each trough 18, Fig. 3,'is supported by springs 23 which are mounted on sole plates 24. The end trough 19, Fig. 2, is connected by a plate 20 to a return spring 21 which is attached to a prop 22. Ropes 17 at each side of the troughs are passed through slotted members 27 mounted on cross-bars 26 fixed to the underside of each trough and are secured therein by single wedges 29 or by pairs of wedges. Adjustable tensioning screws 16 connect the cables to a cross-bar 15 which is connected by an arm 14 to a frame 11. This frame is slidably mounted in guides 12 and is engaged by a polygonal rotary drum constructed as described in Specification 594,210.
