In a jigging conveyer for loading railway wagons of the kind wherein an inclined shoot 1 terminating in a loading scoop 2 is mounted on a supporting framework and reciprocated by a compressed air motor 3, rollers 8 mounted on the shoot run on arcuate rails 6 which are inclined upwardly and mounted on the framework. During loading the base 7 is secured to the supporting rails by wedge fastening devices 10. The conveyer is moved towards the material as loading progresses by coupling the piston of the motor to chains 14 which are anchored to the rails by clamps 16.
