[Class 3(i)] [Also in Group XV] An animated device for advertising and amusement purposes comprises a model of a container for liquid or other substances mounted so that it can be tilted from a vertical to a pouring position, and a transparent or translucent model of a glass or equivalent container for receiving the substance, which container is open at the bottom and in which a coloured member simulating the liquid or other substance can be reciprocated in synchronism with the tilting of the bottle to effect an imitation of filling and emptying of the container. As shown, the mechanism of an electric clock 8 drives cams 9, 23. Cam 9 bears on the curved end 11 of a lever 12 pivoted at 13 and through a weighted link 16, tilts an imitation bottle 4 about a pivot 19. The curvation of the cam 9 is such that the bottle tilts slowly and returns quickly to a vertical position. Movement past the vertical is prevented by a stop 22. Cam 23 acting through levers 25, 27 raises a member 6 simulating liquid up through the open bottom of an imitation glass 5. The return of member 6 to its original position is accelerated by a weight 29. In a modification, the bottle may be replaced by a model of a container for granular, powdered or flake-like substances, and the glass by a model of a bowl, while the member 6 may imitate soap bubbles or lather. An illuminated " stop-go " device 30 is actuated through switch mechanism from the moving parts of the device.
