摘要
650,841. Powder metallurgy. PRIMAVESI, D. Dec. 29, 1947, No. 34532. Convention date, May 22, 1946. [Class 83 (iv)] An alloy of high creep resistance is made by powder metallurgy from particles comprising an alloy of iron with a metal of higher melting point and coated with a metal of higher melting point than the particles. Chemically produced powder comprising 98 per cent iron and 2 per cent molybdenum is plated with pure molybdenum or tungsten powder, pressed, sintered for one hour at 1200‹ C., again pressed and finally sintered for three hours at the same temperature. The result is a body having grains of a ferrous-molybdenum alloy and a boundary substance comprising ferrous-molyb. denum or ferrous-tungsten alloy rich in the alloying constituent. The alloy is subsequently formed into an article by hot or cold pressing, which may be followed by a further heat treatment.
