In apparatus for demonstrating the presence of supernormal radio-active radiation as claimed in the parent Specification, in which an ionization chamber responsive to radiation feeds integrating means for producing a voltage proportional to said radiation so as to set off a warning device when the voltage exceeds a prearranged value. The ionization chamber is separated from the circuit of the device by a coupling condenser which acts as the integrating means a switch being provided for periodically connecting the insulated electrode to earth. The charge on the condenser drains away rapidly to earth the pulse being reproduced on the grid of an amplifying valve connected to the other condenser plate. A number of ionization chambers each responsive to a different type of radiation may be connected to the grid of an amplifying tube, a switch being arranged to earth each electrode in turn. Each ionization chamber may be associated with a separate amplifying tube, the anodes of all the tubes being arranged in parallel.
