A laboratory wash bottle head, splash head or like device comprises a ground glass joint cone 2 and a re-entrant tube 3 extending through said joint cone and rigidly connected with a portion 4 of the head above the joint cone, the said joint cone including a skirt portion 6 which ex PICT:0755966/III/1 tends downwardly below the ground portion of the cone and is furnished with indentations 7 arranged to support said tube. The numerals relate to the illustrated splash head in which the dip tube could alternatively be continued upwardly to an upper part of the head. There is preferably a clearance, e.g. of about 1/4 mm., between the indentations and the tube.
