[Also in Group XIII] The flow of condensate from one steam condensate reservoir 18 to another at a lower temperature and pressure (see Group XIII) is controlled by a valve 49 which is automatically regulated to stop flow if the condensate in the reservoir 18 falls below a minimum level 57. The steam and water spaces of the reservoir are connected by'pipes 69, 56 to a chamber 55 containing a float 58 which actuates a pair of valves 60, 61 connected by a rod 62. They control the supply of steam from the chamber 55 to a piston 53 to close the valve 49 wben the water in the reservoir falls to the minimum level, and the escape of steam from the pipe 54 through an outlet 67 when the water level rises, and the steam supplyis cut off to allow the valve 49 to open.
