End flanges 1 and 1SP1/SP, Fig. 5, are simultaneously fitted on a hollow hub 10 by fitting the hub on to a pin 15 of a punch 121, lifting a cover 7 and dissembling a body 3SP1/SP the union of semicylindrical parts of which confines an axial hole 4 and cavities 2 and 2SP1/SP for housing the flanges; placing the flange 1 in a recessed base 14; returning the parts of the body to the position shown; placing the flange 1SP1/SP in the cavity 2SP1/SP and replacing the cover 7; lowering the punch 12SP1/SP to drive the hub through the hole 9 and advance it to the position 101, expansion of the ends of the hub being permitted by cavities 18 and 18SP1/SP; when the apparatus is dismantled, the hub expands to complete its junction with the flanges and to enable disconnection from the pin 15.
