Class 117 [Also in Group XXX] A screen 14 is mounted on a counter frame 1 by brackets 9 attached to the sides of the screen and mounted between rubber shear springs 8, 10 fixed in cut-outs 11 in the counterframe. The latter rests on rubber springs 15 and has, at least at the charging end 12, side walls joined by transverse members 2, 16. A crank drive comprising an eccentric shaft 34, Fig. 4, in bearings 13 on the member 2, eccentric discs 3 and connecting rods 4, is connected between the screen and couterframe and oscillates those parts in opposition. Each rod comprises portions 23, 26 to which are bolted plates 24, 25, and a key 32 is arranged between each plate and a part of the rod and is welded to the plate or rod. The end 28 of each rod acts through rubber buffers 5 on a bracket 6 secured to the screen, and the buffers are located between the plate 6 and retainers 29, 30 held by nuts 27, 31. A motor 42, Fig 2, bolted to a base plate 39 drives the shaft 34 by belting 43, the tension of which may be adjusted by one or more bolts 38 threaded to a fixed bar 37 and engaging the motor. The base plate 39 is pivoted at one end on a shaft 40 and is supported at its other end by bolts 35 engaging the counterframe. The drive mechanism is covered by a detachable plate 46, Fig. 5, provided with handles 17 and hinged straps 21 which engage brackets 18 on the walls of the counterframe.
