A firework, such as a "cannon" cracker, has a tubular casing made by winding around a mandrel, a ribbon of paper or like material, the overlapping layers of each end section being secured together by adhesive. Adhesive is omitted from the intermediate section, so that this section is weaker than the rest of the tube and forms a rupture zone. The tube may have more than one such zone.
