[Also in Group X] A panel is formed by bonding together with various adhesives, e.g. urea-formaldehyde, polyvinyl acetate, bitumastic latex or rubber compounds, a core 12 of expanded polystyrene, a peripheral frame 13 of timber or metal, and two facing sheets 10, 11 of an asbestos containing material. Non-ammonium phosphate may be added to the core 12 to inhibit combustion. One facing sheet may be decorative. The Provisional Specification describes also the core being of polyvinyl chloride polyurethane, polyester, epoxy resin, urea-formaldehyde resin or gypsum, and the facing sheets being of glass, metal, or plywood, hardboard, glass-fibre reinforced resin or acrylic or synthetic resin faced materials.
