A tube 1 for insertion into a flue or tube to be cleaned is connected by a transition member 2 to a housing 3 within which is a brush 4 the operating rod of which extends out of the housing at the end opposite the tube 1 and substantially coaxially with that tube. There may be a tube 9 for connection to a vacuum hose so that when the brush is withdrawn from the flue being cleaned soot is extracted from the housing.
