An extrusion machine comprises a hollow extrusion screw 2 having external and internal screwthreads 9, 10, respectively, for feeding plastics material from hoppers 12, 13 to a tubeforming die 7. Bolts 8 detachably secure the die 7 to the extrusion cylinder 1. The screw 2 has peripheral apertures which are aligned with the hoppers 12, 13 as the screw rotates for feeding material to the inner screwthread 10. Wire or glass filament reinforcement may be fed from a reel 18 through one or more passage or passages 17 in the screw 2 to produce a helical reinforcement within the extruded tube. The apparatus may be modified so that different plastics materials are supplied from the hoppers 12, 13 to produce laminated tubing. Additionally the tube-forming die 7 may be replaced by others, e.g. for forming parts for window frames.
