PICT:1078836/C1/1 Liquids are foamed in chamber 3 by means of gases blown in by turbine 14. Liquid enters by inlet 6 and is discharged through drain 8. Foam is drained by overflow into compartment 4 and forced by pressure of gas through orifice 15 where the foam breaks. Solids in the liquid deposited by the foam are removed as sludge at 11 while the liquid is removed at 13. Apparatus of this type are described and may be used in parallel and/or in series.
