[Also in Division F1] The burner of a gas-turbine installation used to propel a ship for transporting combustible liquified gas such as methane is supplied with vapour from the methane tanks through a compressor 13 and a heat exchanger 14 fed with combustion gases, and is supplied with fuel oil from a tank 5 through a pump 7, the two fuels being fed to a spray burner 2 where the methane atomises the fuel oil. The fuel oil flow is controlled by a by-pass 19 of the pump 7 containing a regulating valve 20 responsive to the temperature of the combustion gases detected by a device 20a. The fuel oil enters a pipe 24 and passes via lower and upper slots 27c, 27d and slots 29a to an annular passage 32 into which the methane is passed via a pipe 25 and grooves 28b of a central piece 28, the grooves 29a, 28b causing a swirling motion with consequent intimate mixing.
