The hatch openings 22 have a width equal to approximately 50 per cent of the breadth of the vessel and the hinged covers 23, 24, 48 are positioned: flush with the top surface of the 'tween deck. As shown in Fig. 8, the hinged hatch covers 23, 24 of the 'tween deck hatch opening may act as bulk cargo diverters to some of the cargo feeder openings.
