1,167,919. Cine projectors. PAILLARD S.A. Oct.24, 1967 [Nov. 11, 1966], No.48191/67. Heading G2E. A self-threading cine projector has a lug 8 and spring detent 5 which enter recesses (21) and (16) in a film magazine, Fig.2 (not shown), to position the magazine within cavity 3, a rubber-faced roller 6 entering aperture (17) in the magazine to drive film out through opening 18 through groove 12 to loop-formers 22, 23 and back through groove 25 to take up means on the projector, and a rewind roller 11 which engages a wheel (14) on the spindle carrying the film spool in the magazine. The inserted magazine depresses button 10 in cavity 3 to start the projector, while a lug 9 in the cavity depresses dog (20) of the magazine to release a device locking the film end and wheel 14. The magazine has a recess (15) in one broad face to allow roller 11 to engage the wheel (14). In a modification, the projector has an open sided cavity to receive magazines of different sizes, but having locating recesses of the same spacing. This projector, Fig.3 (not shown) has two driving rollers (36, 38) on separate pivotable arms (34, 35) to engage respectively the film winding for the initial threading of the film, and the spool flange during projection and rewind, roller (38) being driven through a ratchet freewheel mechanism.
