[Also in Division F4] A method of making a radiator comprising open-ended conduits 1a, 1b connected at their ends to manifolds 2a comprises the steps of distorting the ends of the conduits so that in cross section they have greater width but have smaller height than the main part of the conduit, juxtaposing the conduits, and inserting infill members 8 or infill material 12 or both into the resulting space 7 between the ends of neighbouring conduits. The conduits are held together in fluid tight manner by welding the infill member 8 or by the setting of the infill material 12. The manifolds 2a may be welded on to the conduits after they have been joined, or may be put in place before securing the conduits and thus assembling the whole radiator in one operation.
