A kit of parts for making model ships comprises at least one bow section, at least one stern section and a number of interchangeable hull sections with means for restraining all these in longitudinal alignment, and at least one superstructure section, all the sections having slidably interengaging longitudinal fore and aft dovetail elements of similar cross section. The dovetail elements may be T-section or frusto conical in cross section. The hull sections may be hollow or solid. The kit may 'be of moulded plastics. The sections may be restrained in longitudinal alignment by tongues and recesses, spring tongues or magnetically. At least one section may have a buoyancy chamber to enable the vessel float and the vessel may be power driven. Fig. I shows an exploded view of a vessel constructed from three sections 1, 2, 3 each section having interengaging elements of the inverted "T" type and an upper deck superstructure 22. Fig. 19 shows a completed vessel with superstructures mounted on. The model may be provided with a power drive.
