Apparatus comprises a watertight container, which can be filled with water, is open upwards, and can be closed by means of a cover, the base of the container being in the form of a hemisphere, a cone, a pyramid, or a funnel, whose convex part or point is directed downwards, and is provided in its centre with an entrance tube or orifices for the passage of air, water or other materials. The apparatus enables air and other essential materials to be easily supplied to the microorganisms or aquatic animals in the container.
