[Also in Division G1] A device for detecting the moisture content of bed clothes for the treatment of enuresis comprises a flexible waterproof sheet A carrying on its upper side a pad B of insulating material, e.g. of paper, p.v.c., or Terylene (Trade Mark), which bears on its upper surface conductive strips b formed with interdigitated fingers b', or as a spiral and connected to a Schmitt trigger circuit C, controlling a phase shift oscillator CSP1/SP, driving a power amplifier modulated by a low frequency multivibrator CSP2/SP, to which a loudspeaker is connected. The level of moisture content at which the loud speaker is energised is dependent on the setting of a resistor c' or CA. The strips b may be of metallic foil, or of conductive ink and may be overprinted with a synthetic resin film. If the ink is of silver, the formation of silver salts by urine may be inhibited by the addition to the resin of, say, potassium acetate.
